A Agência de Acção Comunitária do Oeste de Connecticut fornece serviços e programas sociais directamente e através de parcerias a indivíduos, famílias e comunidades vulneráveis e de baixos rendimentos no Oeste de Connecticut para os ajudar a alcançar a auto-suficiência e a melhorar as suas vidas.
História
Since 1965, The Community Action Agency of Western Connecticut (CAAWC), formerly The Community Action Committee of Danbury (CACD)) has delivered a variety of social service programs ranging from early childcare to elderly fuel assistance in order to help low-income families and individuals with their ever-changing needs to reduce poverty and enable clients to achieve self-sufficiency. CAAWC is an integral part of a nation-wide network of Community Action Agencies (CAAs) dedicated to the take on eliminating poverty. As a non-profit multi-faceted organization, CAAWC provides a wide array of services to clients in towns in Fairfield and Litchfield counties. These towns include: Bethel, Brookfield, Bridgewater, Canaan, Cornwall, Danbury, Darien, Greenwich, Kent, New Canaan, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, North Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Roxbury, Salisbury, Sharon, Sherman, Stamford, Warren, Washington, Weston & Wilton.
CAAWC receives funding from
The Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS), Office of Early Childcare (OEC), School Readiness (Danbury), PCLB Foundation, Spectrum, City of Danbury, Newtown Savings Bank, Union Savings Bank, Savings Bank of Danbury, Ives Bank, as well as various corporations and individuals.
