Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program

What is SNAP?

SNAP provides nutritional support to low-income people. If eligible, SNAP benefits can help families afford a nutritionally adequate diet. SNAP benefits are not cash. SNAP benefits are provided on an electronic card that is used like an ATM or bank card to buy food at most grocery stores.

Income Limits

To receive SNAP benefits in Connecticut, household income and other resources have to be under certain limits and are reviewed. For some households, there is also an asset limit.

Effective October 1, 2022, the gross monthly income limits and net monthly income limits are as listed below.

The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to:
